Meaning of The Empress Tarot Card

The Empress represents beauty in the highest form, but she also shows that everything is delicate, things can be broken as easily as they can be made. She gives life and represents the good. Her world is one which has been created for all to enjoy, her objectives are not selfish. The Empress is a fertile female, and therefore her card is usually linked to new life and themes such as pregnancy. Everything that she has created, she loves greatly.

The Empress has very maternal instincts. Her love is great, but she makes a huge effort to protect those whom she loves, maybe too much so. Although she is elegant and beautiful, sometimes she might struggle to let someone out of her grasp, in fear that they could become unhappy.

She shows that there doesn’t have to be injustice and inequality. She is patient and has very good natural instincts. This card may represent some type of maternal concern, perhaps you are worried about someone who has been close to you for a long time and finally wants to go on to pastures new – which is often inevitable when someone reaches a certain stage in their life.
