The Story behind The Heirophant

After meeting The Emperor, The Fool is inspired to start building his own empire. However, he suddenly starts to doubt himself and wonders if his work will be worth it and what would happen if he loses it. Fortunately he passes a temple and decides to go in. He meets The Hierophant and tells him about his concerns. The knowledgeable, wise Hierophant tells him that, whatever happens, all will not be lost. The Fool would still keep his knowledge and things that he has in common with other people. Losing material goods is not really that bad, as morals and beliefs will remain intact.

Meaning of The Heirophant Tarot Card

The Hierophant represents the more spiritual aspects of the world. He understands that there are many problems and injustices in the world but uses his spiritual power to combat these problems, rather than physical force. He believes in strength in numbers, or, more specifically, that if people come together they can be a great force for bringing about change. The Hierophant is an excellent and influential leader who doesn’t place too much importance on worldly goods.

There is also another less favourable side to The Hierophant. He is known for being very stuck in his ways and resistant to change. He might be seen as too traditional for many people. Additionally, they could see him as boring because he is not open to new things.

The Hierophant is not shrouded in mystery. In times of panic and crisis he can be the voice of reason that offers excellent advice. However, he can also be the teacher who is not open to other ways of doing things. It is important for The Hierophant to have an open mind and an open heart. He shows that things can be achieved over time, and represents what is constant in the world.
